My name is Joseph Keith. I serve as the Church Relations and College Director at Youth Missions International. As such, I am privileged to see God work in the lives of youth and start a passion in them to live with an eternal perspective every day of their lives. This brings God glory and exalts His name among the world. This is what drives me day after day. This is the reason why I do what I do.
I am only one child in a family of eight children. I have four older siblings, three of whom are married and have children. Which means I am an uncle nine times over! I have the seven cutest nephews and two adorable nieces.
My sister Maima is just a month older than me and my three younger siblings are only a year and a half younger. They are the my best friends and are the life to any party we ever go to! Even though we are different in our personalities and preferences, we get alone extremely well and are pretty tight. I am thankful to God for such an awesome family.
My parents have been married for 38 years and are more in love now than ever before. My mother home schooled us all the way through and has earned a retirement from teaching after 24 years of it! She is now excited to be able to focus on ministry more and grandchildren. My father has been a pastor for 30 years. He is now the pastor of a church plant in Bonney Lake, WA called New Hope Community Church (where I attend and intern). He is also the spiritual overseer of YMI. They have been a staple in my life and a constant source of wisdom and guidance. Their love for God has impacted me like no one else and their faith for God’s provision has been a testimony to all.
I have been dating a wonderful woman of God since April of 2012. Taylor Whitehouse has been my best friend and constant encourager in my life. I am so thankful to God for her godly counsel and support in all that I do. We love to have adventures and do crazy things, but most importantly I love how our hearts are centered on the Gospel and the author of the gospel in all we do. Both of us have a passion for missions and impacting those around us. I am constantly amazed at her fluent Spanish ability and skill at adapting to situations around her.
How could I forget my cute little Schnauzer? His name is Tuxedo and he is a loving companion and our welcoming host in our house. He loves to bark at squirrels, snuggle with you, and beg for popcorn. He is deathly afraid of fireworks, but he loves people.
In my spare time (what’s that?) I like to be active in sports events. I love to hike, play pickleball, volleyball, and anything else active. Aside from my daily time in the Bible, I enjoying reading theological books that enhance my knowledge and my spiritual growth. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and going to sports events like the Mariners and Sounders. I am a huge Manchester Untied fan. I also love to longboard with my pals. I like to travel and to experience international cultures and meet people from other countries. What a variety that our God has created for us to enjoy and to bring Him glory through.
I was home schooled all the way through high school. My senior year I did running start and went to Peirce Community College. I then attended The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, CA. For one semester, I had the opportunity to take part of TMC’s IBEX program which is an extension campus in the nation of Israel. I graduated from there with a degree in Bible Exposition. I am currently taking classes at Western Reformed Seminary getting my Master’s of Divinity.
